A BADSEY man will host a charity stand-up comedy night.

Brian Bennett is raising money for the Midlands Air Ambulance charity, after his best friend was airlifted to hospital in Birmingham.

The event will take place on Friday March 24 at Badsey Recreation Club, with tickets costing £5.

Mr Bennett said: "I have raised money for different charities for many years now, as a long term dialysis patient I concentrated on the KPA for many years and have done many charity events.

"I also did a few bucket collection days, one of these dressed as Marilyn Munroe.

"The stand up night will be made up of funny stories from my book and a few others, I have never done stand up before and find it quite exciting."

A raffle will also take place on the day.

The comedy night begins at 8pm.

Mr Bennett also published a charity book called A Badsey Boy for St Richard's Hospice two years ago.

The evening is entitled tales from the river bank, and he warns that the event is for people over 18.

Tickets are available from Badsey Butchers, Evesham Angling Centre and Alcester Sports or at benneredfin@hotmail.co.uk or 01386 40589.
