THE National Trust is looking for an upcoming artists or designer for a new project at Croome Court, near Worcester.

The project, entitled Adam Speaks, aims to find an imaginative way of presenting Croome’s history to visitors, inspired by the neo-classical architect, interior and furniture designer Robert Adam,

The interiors of Croome were decorated and furnished by some of the leading London designers of the period, including Robert Adam. The Long Gallery in the house is thought to be Adams’s first complete room design.

“Adam Speaks is a unique opportunity for an artist at the early stages of their career to work on this fantastic project,” said Kiki Claxton, Croome’s creative programmes co-ordinator.

“There are so many different layers to the final artwork from engagement, learning and a variety of expertise that will be exchanged throughout the project. We are looking for someone who is dynamic, innovative and is able to open up to different ideas and who sees working with people as central to their practice.”

As part of the project, which is supported by Trust New Art, the artist will be mentored by international artist Hew Locke and collaborate with groups to produce a work which it is planned to display in 2017/18 adding to Croome’s programme of contemporary art, exhibitions, drama and poetry.

Anyone interested in being considered for the role of emerging artist, should visit nationaltrust.org.uk/croome. The closing date is Friday, March 3.
