MONTHS of hard work transforming Redditch United’s Valley Stadium is now complete.

The Advertiser recently reported that the £900,000 project, including a cutting edge 3G pitch and major improvements to the clubhouse, had been finished.

The club was awarded a £561,000 grant from the Premier League and The FA Facilities Fund, and £88,166 from the Football Stadia Improvement Fund, a partner organisation to the Football Foundation that is solely funded by the Premier League.

A further £225,000 has also come from Redditch United chairman Chris Swan.

Mr Swan said the new playing surface and revamped facilities would be a huge boost to the town and promised it would put Redditch on the map.

Improvements include a 3rd generation (3G) artificial grass pitch, revamped facilities such as new changing rooms and physio areas, new bar, disabled access, and growing the community section to nearly 60 juniors, disabled and women’s teams.

The club was granted planning permission by Redditch Borough Council to proceed with the work in January.

Mr Swan thanked the council for its support.
