HUNDREDS of visitors flocked to enjoy the Droitwich Spa and District Horticultural Society’s Annual Flower Show on Bank Holiday Monday.

The sun shone on the 68th event, held at Droitwich Spa Leisure Centre, and guests were treated to a spectacular variety of horticultural displays.

More than 500 exhibits filled the show, including flower arrangements, fruit and vegetables, show-stopping bakes and homemade crafts.

A spokesman for the society said: "The society would like to extend it’s thanks to all of those who helped out over the weekend, to all exhibitors for taking part and to the members of the public who attended."

Along with traditional exhibits, there was variety of stalls on offer, while a fairground organ, puppet theatre, farm animals and blackboard art competition provided entertainment for all ages.

Photographic and children’s sections added to the 500 plus exhibits – and all were well supported by society members and friends.

During the day, awards were presented to prize-winners by the Mayor of Droitwich Spa, Councillor Roy Murphy, with Charlie Hodges receiving the trophy for most points in the show.

The society will be holding its Autumn Show on Saturday, September 17, at The Sacred Heart Parish Hall, Worcester Road, Droitwich.
