A CHURCH will be throwing open its doors as part of this year's Heritage Open day.
St John-in-Bedwardine church in St John's is offering visitors the chance to have a go at bellringing, try playing the organ or to join the choir as part of a come-and-sing.
There will also be the opportunity to tour the church and find out some of its history.
The open day is on Thursday, September 8 when the tower will be open 2pm until 6pm and the organ and choir activities will be available from 6pm.
There will also be free refreshments from 2pm.
The event is part of the wider Heritage Open Days, an annual heritage festival which sees thousands of historic monuments and buildings opened to the public.
