TEAMS came from all over the UK to take part in the Ross Regatta at the weekend.

Forty rowing clubs took part in the event from as far afield as Edinburgh in the UK and even a team from Ireland attended, making it an international event.

President Ian Howell said: "We were really pleased with how it all went. It was a massive team effort- there is a massive team of volunteers from the club who make it happen. A big thank you to them- we wouldn't do it without all of those amazing volunteers."

Dragon boat racing kicked off the weekend on Saturday with 15 boats racing.

The Ross Masters and Junior races took place on Sunday with 280 entries and on Monday the senior regatta was held with 160 entries.

On Sunday night the Ross Rowing Club hosted an meal for 100 competitors and on Monday there was a successful president's lunch.

For the first year the club held a ladies day on Sunday afternoon, which was well attended.
