POLICE are warning people to be on their guard after receiving reports of a doorstep scam in Sedgley.
The warning comes after a number of people have opened the door to a man who asks to borrow money.
A West Midlands Police spokesman said: “This is a scam, do not give any money away. We are appealing to anyone who has elderly relatives or neighbours to pass the message on and make sure they are aware that people are operating in this way in the area.”
Anyone with information or concerns about a caller at their address should call 101 or 999 in the case of an emergency.
