THE fire service say a large blaze spotted by residents in Worcester last night was a bonfire.
Hereford and Worcester Fire and Rescue Service (HWFRS) was alerted to the fire in Albert Road, near London Road, just before 10pm on Thursday.
However, on arrival it became clear the burning was under control and the fire crew left the scene.
A spokesperson for HWFRS said: "It turned out to be controlled burning."
The flames sparked concern from residents living nearby, some of who contacted the Worcester News.
Rich Benson tweeted us to say: "Possible Building fire off London road"
While Sara Mason-Parker left a message on Facebook and said: "There's a Fire on the development plot at the back of Victoria Avenue"
