SIXTY years since the doors opened on a new Mission Church on the Fairfield estate in Evesham, a new community is gathering called “Fairfield Church”. A group of people mostly from the Asum Group - six Evesham-based Anglican churches - have formed a team to provide a worship service that starts with breakfast, has craft and art activities for children, contemporary band-led music and interactive presentations.
“It’s a 21st century service for 21st century people. Food, friendship and contemporary music, a place where the whole family can worship together,"said Sarah Hewitt, missioner for the group
The first weekly service starts on September 27 at 10 am and Sarah is looking for more people (young and old alike) to come forward and help out at services in a variety of roles including musicians, welcomers and worship team on a regular or adhoc basis.
