A TRADITIONAL fun fair will be returning to Redditch town centre later in the month.

Wilson’s Fun Fair will be taking place in the Church Green and Market Place between Thursday, September 17 and Saturday, September 19.

Following a seven year absence in the town due to an ongoing dispute with Redditch Borough Council an agreement has been made to allow Wilson’s Fun Fair to hold its traditional September event this year.

On Saturday a community bandstand event featuring live music, dance displays and a variety of stalls is taking place along with a parade of well-known characters of animation, including the stars of Frozen, and a fancy dress competition to win £500 worth of holiday vouchers.

Those taking part in the competition should register on Church Green at 3pm on the day.

Tommy Wilson, owner of Wilson’s Fun Fair, said: “My family have been holding fairs in this town since the 1920s and to be able to do that again is fantastic.”

The fair runs from 1pm to 10pm on the Thursday and Friday and from 11am to 10pm on the Saturday.

Market traders have decided not to open on these three days.
