A LUCKY duck has recently been rescued by a Wyre Forest District Council employee.

The hapless duck was found in a life-threatening situation in Springfield Park as he had been trapped between the bars of the overflow sluice for several days.

Richard Bates from the council’s parks team was on hand to help free the duck in distress.

He said: “I had not long arrived at Springfield Park when the trapped duck was brought to my attention. Fortunately, I was able to rescue the duck and set it free.”

In a matter of minutes, the duck was rescued and reunited with its feathered friends.
