A LONG campaign to restore a canal boat to be used for community purposes came to fruition today at a ceremony at Stourport canal basins.
Digintaries joined members of Stourport Forward as the Bramble was launched in traditional style with a bottle of alcohol.
But instead of champagne it was a bottle of Black Country ale, and it was opened at the stern, not the bow, to help the phortographers get better light!
The Bramble will be a commujnity asset, used for educational purposes by schools and an unusual venue for activities during town events, festivbals etc.
Watch out for more information and better pictures later (These were taken by the Editor. He isn't very good, is he).
