THE children of Chaddesley Corbett Endowed Primary School immersed themselves in science last week when they engaged in a week-long science extravaganza to coincide with British Science Week.

Every child was encouraged to challenge their understanding of how colours are created and interact, how the shape of 3D models affects their stability and how water mixes with other liquids.

With the emphasis very much on “having a go”, they carried out a variety of experiments and investigations, involving fun, bubbles, marshmallows and spaghetti, supported by school staff, parents and grandparents.

The week culminated on Friday in a celebration of all the children’s hard work and fun at a Science Fayre - a time to share all their findings with parents and friends. This was also an opportunity for the adults to take part in the fun and have a go themselves.

Helen Fey, from the school, said the children’s enthusiasm was evident in the work they produced following their experiments with posters, charts and 3D models all on display at the Science Fayre.
