A MAN has been taken to a major trauma centre following a car accident near Wellington this morning.
Emergency services were called to the dual carriageway stretch of the A49 at Wellington about 9am following a two-car collision.
A man in his 70s suffered suspected chest, abdominal and pelvic injuries.
"He was immobilised and splints were applied for possible fractures," said MARS Basics emergency doctor, Malcolm Russell.
"He was taken to Queen Elizabeth Hospital, Birmingham.
“In the other car were two women and a man, all in their late teens or early 20s. They were all assessed at the scene and were found to have minor injuries. They were discharged at the scene.”
