HELP is at hand for borough residents who are living in fear of losing their home or independence.

A new housing support service has been set up in Dudley, designed to help people discuss their difficulties.

The service will offer guidance on budgeting and finances, welfare benefits, completing a range of application forms and available local resources.

No appointment is necessary for the drop in sessions, which will be taking place on the first Monday of every month at Queens Cross Network in Wellington Road from 1.30pm to 3.30pm.

Councillor Gaye Partridge, cabinet member for housing said: "We now have nine locations throughout the borough ensuring that as many residents as possible have access to this free service.

"Anyone who is worried about keeping their home or independence can just drop into one of the sessions. They will be able to have a chat with someone who is impartial and help put things into context with help and advice."

To confirm a session is taking place, residents should contact the council on 01384 812504.

Details of other sessions held throughout the borough are available at www.dudley.gov.uk.
