10:19am Tuesday 27th December 2011 in News
FIREFIGHTERS were called to a cottage near Stow after reports of a chimney fire.
Gloucestershire Fire Service received the call to the property in Eyford at about 4.14pm on December 24.
A crew from Stow station along with a crew of five fire-fighters and Station Commander Muckle attended and put out the fire in 45 minutes.
Gloucestershire Fire & Rescue Service attends around 300 chimney fires every year.
These numbers are rising as solid fuel heating increases in popularity.
