Firefighters attend chimney fire near Stow

FIREFIGHTERS were called to a cottage near Stow after reports of a chimney fire.

Gloucestershire Fire Service received the call to the property in Eyford at about 4.14pm on December 24.

A crew from Stow station along with a crew of five fire-fighters and Station Commander Muckle attended and put out the fire in 45 minutes.

Gloucestershire Fire & Rescue Service attends around 300 chimney fires every year.

These numbers are rising as solid fuel heating increases in popularity.
