Wild weather batters Gloucestershire

WILD weather has caused more misery to drivers this morning with six incidents around Gloucestershire including two in the Cotswolds.

Overnight the police reported fallen trees and one on fire after high winds battered the county.

A tree fell in Leasow Lane, Great Rissington causing an obstruction to traffic.

Tree debris was also found on the A429 Three Rivers at Bourton. Both obstructions have now been cleared.

Inspector Jason Keates, Traffic Management and Road Safety Inspector for the county, said: “At this time of year the weather can create poor driving conditions, including icy roads, fog and possibly snow.

“It is always worth considering the road conditions before you set out on a journey in winter and, if the roads are particularly bad, you should consider whether your journey is really necessary.”
