AN Evesham man has died following a crash with a car this morning.


The A435 at Gotherington, near Cheltenham, has now been re-opened following the crash which happened at about 8am involving a red Yamaha motorcycle and a silver Peugeot 306.


The motorcyclist, a 47-year-old man from Evesham,was taken to Frenchay in Bristol with multiple chest and abdominal injuries but died a while later.


A 20-year-old man from Apperley was arrested on suspicion of driving without due care and attention and has been further arrested on suspicion of causing death by careless driving. He currently remains in police custody.

 

Officers investigating the collision continue to appeal to a van driver that may have witnessed the crash. 

The van was originally described as a BT van, however enquiries have been made with the company and none of their staff were in the area at the time.

This potential witness is urged to contact Gloucestershire Police on 101, quoting incident number 52 of September 14 as soon as possible.
