Step back 500 years at castle

THERE will be a chance to experience a landmark moment in English history at Sudeley Castle next month.

Visitors will be able to take part in a re-enactment at the castle, in Winchcombe, on Sunday, September 9, as part of the 500th anniversary celebrations of the birth of Queen Katherine Parr.

Among the events will be a re-enactment of the funeral service of Katherine Parr, which historian Dr David Starkey will be involved in.

Visitors can take on the roles of guests from the Tudor Court and there will be a service in St Mary’s Chapel at the castle. There will be reenactments at 10.30am and 2.30pm. Following the morning service there will be a lunch featuring a talk by Dr Starkey. For details and tickets call 01242 602308.
