THE second Champagne Classic drew a large collection of vintage cars and period dress – and raised £4,000 for good causes.
The event was organised by Kingham and Daylesford Rotary Club in aid of Helen and Douglas Hospice and Rotary Charities.
It was held in the grounds of Kingham Hill School.
Despite the bad weather, people still turned out in their 1920s finery for the occasion, which included a champagne reception, jazz music and an auction of promises, Organiser Paul Spencer said: “We were very pleased that, despite the weather, some spectacular and beautifully presented cars took part, with many people dressed for the occasion in the period of their cars.”
Next year’s event will be held on July 7.
