STAFF at a Cotswold nursery school that only opened six months ago are celebrating its first set of Ofsted results.

The Petit Enfant nursery on Upper Rissington Business Park, received “good” ratings across the board for its early years provision and the effectiveness of its management and leadership.

The inspector said children at the nursery, which took over the site following the shock closure of the First Place nursery two days before Easter last year, were “very happy and eager to learn and have built good relationships with staff”.

Nursery manager Veronny Farey, said: “I’m absolutely thrilled and the bosses are thrilled. It’s been a bit of a struggle to get it going but this makes it all worthwhile.”

The nursery school, which is part of a group run by Deborah Robinson and Peter Wilkes that has nurseries in Carterton and Witney in Oxfordshire, currently has 23 children on its books but has capacity for up to 64 under-eights.

“At the moment we want to build that up,” said Veronny, who is planning to hold an open day for parents to come and look at the nursery’s facilities from 4pm to 6pm on Friday, February 25.
