A NEWSLETTER has been launched to help Cotswold businesses survive the recession.
Cotswold District Council (CDC) is publishing Business Matters, a quarterly, four-page newsletter designed specifically for local businesses.
With the newsletter outlining how CDC can help traders withstand the recession, the first edition details how to obtain benefit payments for workers on reduced salaries.
Other features include an offer to help firms save on running costs by reducing their carbon footprints, details of a new business start-up, safety regulation information, dates of key council meetings and news about Business Link-sponsored events.
Coun Lynden Stowe, CDC’s leader, said: “The recession may now be over officially but many businesses in the Cotswolds are still facing the toughest trading conditions for a generation.”
Coun Paul Hodgkinson, Liberal Democrat leader on CDC, said: “I’m glad CDC’s cabinet has listened to the Lib Dem campaign to get the council to do much more to help people in the current difficult economy.”
The newsletter is available from the council’s website - at www.cotswold.gov.uk/go/BusinessMatters - and copies have been sent electronically to Business Link, Chamber of Commerce, Federation of Small Businesses and town and parish council representatives to forward to their contacts.
Feedback on the newsletter, or news for future publications, should be sent to businessmatters@cotswold.gov.uk
