NEW businesses can now get expert advice in Chipping Norton.

Oxfordshire Business Enterprises (OBE), an organisation providing free advice for newly launched businesses, will run mentoring sessions at the CETA Insurance company’s office in Stones Business Centre, Market Place.

CETA has given OBE free use its office to meet clients, who previously had to travel to Witney or Banbury to meet their OBE business mentor.

This agreement was negotiated by West Oxfordshire District Council, which supported OBE’s establishment in 2004 and already provides premises for the organisation - and Business Link - in Witney.

Jan Hendricks, OBE mentor covering Chipping Norton, expressed delight with the arrangement.

He said, “A local meeting place, in Chipping Norton, will be much more convenient for residents.”

Coun Warwick Robinson, the council’s economic development cabinet member, said helping West Oxfordshire’s economy remain prosperous and achieve full employment was a priority for the authority.

He added: “We are, therefore, very pleased to have facilitated a new business venue for OBE.

“Their advisors have helped hundreds of people set up in businesses in Oxfordshire over the last five years.”
