COTSWOLD people will take their treasured belongings to Stanway House, near Winchcombe, on Thursday, May 14 to have them valued by The Antiques Roadshow’s experts.

A forthcoming edition of the popular BBC One television programme’s 32nd series will be filmed there from 9.30am until 4.30pm when it is expected to attract 1,500-2,000 visitors.

Fiona Bruce will present the programme for the second year running.

She said: “Exploring the human story behind every object is what makes Antiques Roadshow so fascinating.

“And everyone loves the agony and ecstasy of the 'what's it worth?’ moment.

“The AR isn't just about antiques - it's history, beauty and drama all wrapped up in one.”

Some of Britain’s leading antiques and fine arts specialists will attend to offer free advice and valuations to visitors, who are invited to raid their attics and bring their family heirlooms, household treasures and car boot bargains for inspection by the experts.

The last series, watched by an average of more than seven and half million viewers, included a glass vase bought for a £1 which later sold for £36,000, rare watercolours by an important American artist found on a tip and a maquette of the Angel of the North valued at £1million.

People with large pieces of furniture or other big items can send details and photographs of their objects to Antiques Roadshow, BBC, Whiteladies Road, Bristol BS8 2LR or e-mail them to: antiques.roadshow@bbc.co.uk.

It may be possible to arrange for the experts to examine such items in advance and organise transportation to the venue.
