AN artist-run shop has found a long-term home.

Having traded for years in temporary locations in Cheltenham, the artist-run shop formerly known as Arcade Artisans has finally found a long-term home in Bourton.

Originally known as By Local in Regent Arcade back in 2009, the shop moved on to become Arcade Artisans in Beechwood Shopping Arcade and the Brewery Quarter.

The traders have now renamed themselves Bourton Artisans which will display the work of 25 local artisans, including artists, potters, jewellers, stitchers, sculptors, felters, silver-workers, glass-workers, a candlemaker, photographer, knitter and leather.

Visitors to the shop can meet the people who created the goods on the shelves as the artisans man the shop themselves.

Bourton Artisan’s manager, artist Trudi Hayden, said “We are really excited about coming to Bourton.

"While we’ve enjoyed our time in Cheltenham it will be lovely to be part of a smaller community, especially in such a beautiful setting. We’re all eager to begin and are looking forward to meeting visitors and residents of Bourton-on-the-Water.”

The new shop opens its doors for the first time on Saturday and will be open 7 days a week during the summer.
