A WIDE variety of classic cars converged on The Classic Motor Hub for visitors to browse.

The Classic Motor Hub hosted the cars which were accompanied by live music before Grease was shown on the big drive-in screen.

As ever, the local food stalls and licensed bar tent were very popular, lit as dusk descended by firepits that dotted the area. Popcorn and candy floss completed the scene.

Visitor cars including everything from a trio of pre-war Bugattis to a ‘trick’ VW Golf GTI Mk I, lowered and sounding wonderful through twin Weber 45s.

Following the American theme, a Chevrolet pickup truck really fitted the bill, and a Ford Consul didn’t look at all out of place.

Many visitors really threw themselves into the spirit of the evening, and there were plenty of 1950s -style dresses on show, plus a group who came as pink ladies and t-birds.

Parked in pride of place outside Cotswold Collectors Cars was the fourth car Aston Martin Motors Ltd ever built – the wonderful 1927 1 ½ Litre ‘Chassis S4’.

Inside, there were more gems including a superb 1968 Mercury Cougar and a lovely 1983 Land Rover Series III.

Guests were handed a copy of The Classic Motor Hub ‘Motor Mart’, a printed newspaper reminiscent of the old Trader magazines, combining the hub’s motoring stock with period-style advertisements and articles.

The hub’s next evening event is on Saturday August 5, when Chitty Chitty Bang Bang will be shown on the big screen.

Classic cars are not essential, but visitors are encouraged to bring them if they own them.

Tickets cost £15 per car, no matter the number of occupants.
