PLANS for a new retirement village will go on show at a public consultation event.

The proposals, submitted by Liberty Retirement Living, will be available to view and discuss at St. Edward's Hall in Stow's town square.

Karl Hallows, director of development and sales at Liberty Retirement Living, said: "We are excited to present our detailed proposals to the people of Stow, outlining our plans for a new retirement community in the town.

“Whilst outline planning permission has already been granted for a retirement community on this site, we are keen to discuss the proposals in more detail before we finalise them with Cotswold District Council.

"I would encourage anyone in Stow who is interested to come along next Friday, to ask questions of the project team and learn more about our exciting plans in the town."

The company would not say how many people the village would house.

If the plans succeed, the retirement home will be built on land just south of the BP petrol station and opposite the Plymouth Brethren Christian Church.

The proposals will be available to view and discuss between 4pm and 8pm on Friday March 10.

Outline planning permission was granted for a new Continuing Care Retirement Community in 2015, at the site just south of Stow Town Centre, near the A429.

This month’s public consultation will offer local residents the opportunity to feed back on the details of Liberty Retirement Living’s plans in the town.

In advance of the consultation event, more than 1,000 brochures have been distributed across Stow and the surrounding area, containing a free post feedback card, giving residents the opportunity to respond with their comments.
