PUDSEY bear has made a special visit to collect donations from schoolchildren.

The BBC Children in Need's mascot called in at St Mary's Catholic Primary School in Broadway, where children had come to school dressed in spotty clothes.

Thanks to the non-uniform day, the school raised £238.96.

Jen Croke, assistant head, said: "The children were delighted by the special visit from Pudsey who gave everyone a high five for collecting their pennies."

The visit from the bear is part of Pudsey’s Treasure Chest 2016 for donations of pennies and pounds for this year's Children in Need, with the tour of schools donation collections hoping to raise a target of £20,000.

The busy bear has already visited 50 Schools in Worcestershire and Herefordshire.
