THOUSANDS of people will pay tribute to fallen soldiers in the Cotswold area.

Across the weekend, remembrance services will take place commemorating the end of the First World War.

In Stow on the Wold, Armistice Day will see schools and the local community gather around the Cross in the Square for two minutes silence, or inside St Edward's Church if it is a wet day.

For Remembrance Sunday there is a parade to church, led by St Andrews Pipe Band of Cheltenham, which will gather in Stow Square from 10.25am.

There is a service in St Edwards Church where wreaths will be laid next to the war memorial.

Moreton-in-Marsh will have a parade meeting at Moreton Fire Station on Parkers Lane, at 10.15am to start a parade at 10.40 am and a service will take place at the High Street war memorial starting at 10.50am.

A short service will begin at 10.55am at the war memorial for Armistice Day.

In Bourton-on-the Water, there will be a parade on Remembrance Sunday starting at the Royal British Legion at 10.30am and ending at the war memorial where an 11am service will take place.

An informal service will also happen at the war memorial on Armistice Day just before 11am.

In Chipping Campden, the Royal British Legion will start an Armistice Day ceremony at 10.45am at the war memorial, with the legion branch chairman doing an address.

Shortly after 11am there will be a remembrance service.

On Remembrance Sunday there will be a service at St James' Church from 10.30am and a parade to the war memorial meeting at 11.30am before a short service.

In Blockley, on Remembrance Sunday there will be a service at St Peter and St Paul Church beginning at 10am, before the congregation head to the war memorial for a 10.45am service.

In Broadway an 11am service will take place on Armistice Day at the war memorial. On Remembrance Sunday, a service will begin at 10.50am at the War Memorial, before a service immediately after at St Michael's Church.

Wreaths will be laid as part of a service at Carterton war memorial from 10.30am on Remembrance Sunday, with representatives from the Royal Air Force in attendance.

Chipping Norton sees a parade meeting at Sainsbury's at 10.10am on Remembrance Sunday and then marching to St Mary's Church with the local British Legion, for a service.

On Armistice Day, a two minute silence will take place at the war memorial on London Road, with people urged to arrive by 10.50am.

A two minutes silence will take place on 11am outside the George Hotel on Shipston High Street during Armistice Day.

On Remembrance Sunday, a parade will meet outside the George Hotel at 10.15am before marching to St Edmund's Church with the British Legion and the town band at 10.30am.

The Winchcombe service and parade on Remembrance Sunday will start at 10.15am at Winchcombe Fire Station and finish at Abbey Terrace, where a service will take place.
