FINAL preparations are underway for the Brailes Village Show which is set to offer fun for all the family.

The annual Shipston event is this year being held on Saturday, August 13, at Brailes Village Hall - and this year includes the show's first scarecrow trail.

The theme of this year's Brailes Show is the Olympics, with the scarecrows representing Olympics athletes going on display throughout August before the show.

Villagers will be able to vote for their favourites, with gold, silver and bronze prizes for the best scarecrows awarded at the show.

The show opens from 1.30pm with an Olympic themed wheelbarrow and fancy dress parade.

The show's marquee will be providing an exhibition of local produce, flowers, fruit, vegetables, wine and honey, while children and adults will be able to display their skills in baking, preserving, crafts, photography and art.

Live entertainment in the main arena will be taking place all afternoon, featuring the Calypso Kids, the Hoop Guy, a gymnastic display, a parade of Vintage Vehicles and a tug-of-war competition.

The event also has stalls, sideshows and a raffle.

A new activity for children this year will be a zorb zone featuring water zorbing, aeroball, bouncy boxing and bungee run. There is also a soft play area, and archery.

Refreshments will be available in the village hall, as well as a barbecue and a beer tent.

Tickets cost £3.50 for adults, £2.50 for seniors and £1 for under 16s.

A family ticket, for two adults and two children, costs £8. Under fives go free.
