COTWOLD youngsters looking for fun during the summer holidays are being invited to the events forming a fun packed programme.

Summer off the Streets is made up of a wide selection of family fundays, skate park events, drop in activity sessions and children’s workshop - with many of the events and activities being offered for free.

The events are being organised by local community and arts organisation World Jungle, with funding support from Gloucestershire County Council’s children and young people’s activity fund.

Summer off the Streets takes place over a week and will be travelling across the Cotwolds, including during the week beginning August 15 in Stow on the Wold, and in Bourton-on-the-Water and Northleach during the week beginning August 22.

During the weeks youngsters can take part in various activities including cooking, circus skills, drama, arts and crafts, sports, games and climbing sessions.

Large family fun days are also planned, being held on Friday, August 12 in South Cerney and Friday, August 26 in Bourton on the Water.

Bourton and Northleach councillor Paul Hodgkinson said: “I am really pleased to be able to support this programme which proved so popular with children and families last summer, providing a range of affordable activities in the heart of our community.

"I am especially pleased that the programme is providing so many free events for families to just turn up at and participate.

"We hope the programme will help families and encourage children to get active this summer, make use of our parks and green spaces and get involved and enjoy a range of activities.”

Activities with limited spaces, which require booking, often fill up quickly so organisers encourage people to visit the website and reserve spaces as soon as possible.
