WHILE most of us are still waiting for summer to arrive, one Cotswold couple are already thinking ahead to Christmas.

Last year Darren and Carla Cooper, from Great Rollright, set up a Christmas display outside their home and raised money for charity.

This year they are hoping to make the display bigger and better and are appealing for any inflatable outdoor decorations, silhouettes or lights which people no longer need and are in good condition. The money they raise will be donated to the Teenage Cancer Trust.

"We started putting a display together last October and really it was a bit late. We didn't have many lights but it was bright and cheery and we enjoyed doing it. This year we want to be more organised."

They are hoping anyone doing any spring cleaning who comes across any decorations they don't want any more would be willing to donate them for their Christmas charity display.

"We have lost a few of our friends to cancer and the son of a friend of ours was only 12 when he died. That is why we have picked a cancer charity for young people," explained Mr Cooper.

"If people have items they want to donate for us to use they can get in touch with us via our Facebook site: Christmas Wonderland Oxfordshire."
