A BEDROOM designed by an imaginative local pupil is being brought to life by Bloor Homes at its new showhome in Bourton-on-the-Water.
Maya Samuel, a Year 5 pupil at Bourton-on-the-Water Primary Academy, created a winning ‘Up, Up and Away’ scheme which secured first prize in the competition run by the homes developer for their brand new Bourton Chase development.
The scheme, which includes a rainbow chest of drawers and a sky mural on the walls, will now be used by interior designer Sarah Thomas to create the bedroom in the showhome which is planned to open on February 20.
Sarah Thomas, from design consultancy Jane Clayton, said: “We’d like to thank all the children from the Primary Academy who took part in our competition and submitted such wonderful, imaginative designs.
“Picking a winner was very tricky but Maya’s beautiful ‘Up, Up and Away’ design just pipped the others to the post.
“I’m very excited about using Maya’s ideas in the design of the bedroom and I’m sure visitors will be delighted to look around it from February 20.”
The runners-up in Bloor Homes’ competition were Sophia Torris and Lottie Oliver who used bright colours along with a pet theme, and Cosima Summergill with her rainbow-coloured room.
The four girls were congratulated and presented with gift vouchers as a thank you.
