A WOMAN who started out riding with the Riding for the Disabled charity and who has gone on to become a paralympic gold medallist has become patron of the Cotswold RDA.

Natasha Baker, who is also five times European para-dressage champion, started riding at the age of nine.

Gill Mould, of Cotswold RDA said: "Natasha will be a fantastic inspiration to our riders and she is a great example of what can be achieved. This is such great news for us."

The Cotswold group is celebrating its 50th anniversary this year and has already enjoyed a visit from RDA president HRH Princess Anne.

The good news of their new patron has come as the group is gearing up for a big fundraising push as it hopes to raise £2million for a new building.

"I am delighted to have been chosen as patrol of Cotswold RDA. I started riding with RDA when I was nine on the recommendation of my physio, but I soon developed a real passion for the sport. When I set my sights on the paralympics my RDA coaches supported me all the way. Now I have the opportunity to give that support back to the riders at Cotgswold RDA and to encourage others to help this fantastic charity," said Natasha.

Like many charities, Cotswold RDA relies on the help of volunteers and donations to deliver its services. If anyone wishes to find out more, go to: www.cotswoldrda.org.uk
