THE deadline is rapidly approaching to nominate a young person, business or school in the Cotswolds for a prestigious award.

The annual Grow Gloucestershire Showcase Awards celebrates the achievements of young people in the county aged between 14 and 24 who have kick-started their careers though work experience placements, apprenticeships or internships, along with the businesses and schools which have helped them get there.

Businesses are invited to nominate a young person on an apprenticeship, internship or work experience placement while anyone in the county can put forward a firm or school which has helped young people get into a career.

Schools can also put students who have been given exceptional feedback following a work experience placement forward along with teachers or careers advisers who have gone above and beyond the call of duty to help young people get into employment.

The deadline for nominations is 4pm on Friday, July 31 and the awards ceremony will be held on Tuesday, October 20 at Cheltenham Racecourse.
