TWO planning applications for a new medical centre for Stow are due to be determined by Cotswold District Council's planning committee next week.

Different developers are vying for permission to build the facility with applications coming from adjacent fields situated between Oddington Road and Maugersbury Road.

The first application is at Tall Trees and is for a medical centre and associated car parking with access from Maugersbury Road. The second application is for a similar sized medical centre and car parking but with an additional enabling development of five houses with access from Oddington Road.

Both applications have been turned down in the past and each applicant has submitted amended plans. The Tall Trees development is moved to the southern end of the site while the Gypsy Field site has reduced the size of the health centre and houses.

The applications will be determined at the district council's planning meeting on Wednesday July 8.

Planning officers have recommended approval for both applications.
