MOMENTS for quiet contemplation have been made possible by Mill Dene Garden, in Blockley, through hosting a number of 'Quiet Garden Days'.

Several days throughout June have been used as these special days which gives people the opportunity to sit quietly and appreciate stillness and reflection time.

Wendy Dare, owner of Mill Dene, said: "

The vision of the Quiet Garden Trust is to spread the network of opportunities for stillness and reflection aided by the beauty of the garden. The experience of quiet times enables us to slow down, to become more alert with our five senses, to offer a space for quiet reflective prayer in a caring context and awaken the creative side in all of us."

A typical pattern of a quiet day or afternoon is tea and coffee served on arrival followed by a short introduction after which the rest of the time can be spent in quietness in the garden.

Visitors can spend time walking the lawn, reading, painting, sewing or relaxing.

A donation to cover costs and some of the work of the Quiet Garden Movement would be appreciated.

The next quiet garden event is on Tuesday June 30.
