THOUSANDS of pounds worth of jewellery and items have been stolen from a house in Bourton-on-the-Hill.

Gloucestershire Police said the burglary occurred on March 9 but a processing error resulted in the details only becoming available on March 25.

They said at 5pm on March 9 a householder returned home to find an unknown car in the driveway and patio doors forced.

A man was found in a bedroom in the process of stealing valuables.

The offender ran out of the house and drove off in the car he'd parked in the driveway, smashing through a locked metal gate.

He is described as in his twenties with black hair and black stubble on his chin. The car he escaped in is a black Ford Mondeo.

Some of the items stolen include: a Sony Playstation 4 and controller; a (fake) Breitling watch with a black strap and watch face; a Tag Heuer watch, with a black bezel and yellow face; two Diesel watches - one with blue metal face and beige strap, one with black square face with black and silver metal strap; a Lacoste watch with a white face and beige leather strap; an 18 carat gold chain in a 'C' link pattern; a gold chain in a Celtic pattern; a silver bracelet with four blue coloured jewels in a square pattern on the front; a white gold ring set with three large one carat diamonds; a yellow gold ring set with diamonds and a Sony DSLR camera with additional lens.

The police are appealing for anyone with further information or who saw this car in the locality to call 101 quoting incident number 392 of March 9 2015.
