COTSWOLD Decorative and Fine Arts Society's April 8 lecture is “The Golden Age of Venetian Glass”, by Jane Gardiner.
The lecture explores the stylistic development of glass produced in Venice from its early beginnings to the late 17th century. It explains such fashions as that for richly coloured and enameled glass, as well as discussing how these beautiful pieces would have been used.
Jane Gardiner was deputy directory of Sotheby’s UK and taught at Sotheby’s Institute for many years.
Lectures take place at Bradwell Village Hall, Burford. They begin at 11am with complimentary coffee and tea from 10.15am to 10.45am. Non-members are very welcome with a suggested donation of £8.
