CHURCHGOERS in Broadway hit the village streets on Ash Wednesday and offered to say a prayer for the people they met along their way.
The group were not alone as members of churches around the county took to the streets of their own towns and cities to collect prayers.
The Bishop of Worcester, Dr John Inge and the Bishop of Dudley, Graham Usher, were among those collecting prayers during the morning, as will the Archdeacons of Worcester and Dudley, Robert Jones and Nikki Groarke and the Diocesan Secretary, Robert Higham.
They all approached members of the public to ask them for their prayer requests, which were written prayed later at Ash Wednesday services.
Reverend Michelle Ward, the priest in charge of Broadway with Wickhamford parishes, was out collecting prayers.
She said: "It went really well and we were grateful the archdeacon chose to join us. People asked us to pray for world peace, Ebola, people with cancer, loved ones who were sick or grieving, people to pass exams, for peace not war to name a few and the best side of the high street to be was in the sunshine in our lovely cotswold village."
