A GLOUCESTERSHIRE-based national children's charity whose patron is Prince Harry, is seeking local nominations for the 2015 WellChild awards.

WellChild celebrates the inspirational qualities of the UK’s seriously ill children and young people and the dedication of the people who go that extra mile to make a real difference to their lives.

It is calling on local people to put forward their 2015 nominations in all categories for the awards, an event which can make a real impact on the morale of the winners, their families and others who provide care and support.

At last year's ceremony at Hilton Park Lane, London, all winners and their families met Prince Harry and many of WellChild’s celebrity supporters, including Gaby Roslin, Joe Calzaghe, Russell Howard and Alexandra Burke.

Entries for the 2015 Awards will be judged by an expert panel including children’s health researchers, former winners and health professionals. Awards will be handed out at an event in London in September.

The categories are: Inspirational child or young person; most caring child or young person; doctor, nurse and health team awards and special recognition award.

If you know someone who deserves special recognition then nominate them for an award by visiting www.wellchild.org.uk or contacting the charity on 01242 530007. The closing date for all entries is May 4.
