FOUR little penguins have arrived at their new home in the Cotswolds just in time for Christmas.

Birdland in Bourton-on-the-Water have welcomed a parcel of Humboldt penguins in to the wildlife park.

The four birds arrived from Zlin in the Czech Republic and are settling in to their new home.

The three males and one female are all under a year old.

Head keeper, Alistair Keen, said: “We are pleased to get four new Humboldt penguins into the colony, although these latest arrivals are very young and won’t start breeding for a few years, it is great to get more diversity into the group for future pairings.

“We are busy getting the nest sites ready for the rest of the group at present and hope they will start pairing early next year.”

Visitors can see the new penguins at Birdland over Christmas, with penguin feeding at 11am and 2.30pm daily.
