CHILDREN aged between two and four in Worcestershire are being offered the new nasal spray flu vaccine in place of the traditional injection as this year’s vaccination campaign gets started.
The new Fluenz Tetra immunisation, which has been used in the USA for more than 10 years, was introduced last year for two and three year olds and has been expanded this year.
Parents of children aged two to four will be contacted by their GP about getting their child vaccinated this winter.
The traditional injection will continue to be offered for free to those aged 65 and older, pregnant women, carers and people with long-term medical conditions.
