A COTSWOLDS quilter put her skills to use to create a representation of one of the region’s most scenic areas.

Jane Wain from Winchcombe created a 30cm square representing the town as part of an initiative by the national Walkers are Welcome network.

Her creation depicts a patchwork of fields, sheep, drystone walling and barbed wire fencing.

Each of the more than 100 towns in the network has been asked to create a square showcasing their area to become part of a wall hanging to be displayed at a national get-together in Chepstow in October.

Chairman of the Winchcombe Walkers are Welcome group Sheila Talbot said: "It's beautiful and the lovely thing is that as the Walkers are Welcome Network grows, so will the quilt".
