VILLAGERS will be celebrating their 66th Blockley Horticultural Society Show on Saturday (August 23) with an abundance of fruit, flowers and vegetables for country lovers to feast their eyes on.
The society, which held its first event in 1949, is determined to keep this year’s show traditional with all manner of classes including unusually shaped vegetables, floral displays, cookery and photography on show.
Organiser, Sue Salmon said: “Last minute exhibitors are welcome to pick up a schedule from Blockley Village Shop and Café.” The show, at St George’s Hall in Blockley, will be open to the public from 2:30pm with the presentation of prizes at 4pm.
Visitors, at a cost of £1 for adults, can also enjoy music performed by Blockley Brass Band while enjoying a cup of tea and a piece of homemade cake.
