THE Shipston Food Festival has welcomed well known local beer makers, Hook Norton Brewery, as a sponsor for the event.

The event, which is taking place from Friday, September 19, until Sunday, September 21, will see a variety of food and drink from local producers offered up alongside entertainment and baking and cookery face offs.

Dan Scobie, festival chairman, said they were delighted to get the backing of a successful local drink company.

He said: "We created to festival to provide a platform for local food and drink related business to promote themselves within the local community, and as a celebration of all things local.

"It’s therefore fantastic to have such a well-loved local brewery as a supporter of the festival. This support means we can build a bigger and more successful festival for 2014."

Hook Norton’s commercial managing director, Adrian Staley, added: "When Dan approached us about supporting the 2014 festival, we leapt at the chance. As a family owned business we’ve been brewing beer in the Cotswolds for over 150 years, so the festival is a great way to engage with the local community."

The Shipston Beer Festival takes place at Shipston Rugby Club on Friday. September 19, with family fun from 4pm, and live music and a range of home-made curries in the evening.

There are baking and food related competitions the following day and the main festival takes place on Sunday in the main square from 10am.
