TOURISTS and villagers had a quacking good time at North Cotswolds Rotary Club's annual duck race in Bourton over the weekend.

The sun shone on the popular event yesterday with races taking place in the River Windrush at half-hourly intervals throughout the afternoon.

People also enjoyed entertainment from a passing group of Morris dancers who visited the Rotary tombola stall.

Event organiser Bob Hadley said: “This is above all a fun community event that also raises funds for local charities.

"We welcomed tourists from China, France, Canada and America and many other countries too, including a couple from Kansas City Rotary Club that has over 200 members.

"And we raised almost £1,100 for local charities - all in all a great day out, full of fun and fellowship.”

The next events organised by North Cotswolds Rotary club include a Charity Bake Off at The Cotswold School on Saturday, October 4 followed by a Youth and Music Concert at St Edward’s Church, Stow, at 7.30pm on the same day.
