A MOTHER-of-one is gearing up to walk184 miles from across the country including part of the Cotswolds.

Andrea Cameron, aged 33, will be walking the equivalent of seven marathons in seven days when she walks from the Severn View Services in Bristol to Spalding in Lincolnshire.

Starting on Saturday, her route will take her through Bourton, Stow, and up to Shipston, as she makes her way from the west to east coast of England.

And she is hoping her efforts will raise £7,000 for seven charities, including Shelter, Independent Age, The Samaritans, and the Rainbow Trust.

Mrs Cameron, who lives in Kirton, near Spalding, said what she will find the hardest, is the hilly terrain of the Cotswolds.

"I'm going right through the Cotswolds which is the worst for me as I come from Lincolnshire which is dead flat," she said. "My biggest challenge is getting blisters but I'm confident I can do the distance, I've done quite a lot of practice."

Mrs Cameron, who has organised the whole challenge herself including a website so people can track her progress, has been training hard for the endurance feat after she starting distance walking last year.

And she is planning to meet work colleagues, family and friends along the way to keep her company.

"I've got a treadmill for the hill walking then I've got out as much as I can in the countryside," she added. "One of the most difficult things is planning the route. I think the organisation has been more tough just making sure that everyone is going to be in the right place at the right time.

"I'm really looking forward to it."
