GLOUCESTERSHIRE County Council is calling for people from all walks of life to consider fostering.
The county council is particularly appealing for carers for older children, teenagers, groups of brothers and sisters and disabled children.
Fostering can mean anything from looking after a disabled child for a few hours to caring for someone through to adulthood.
Foster Care Fortnight, a nationwide campaign organised by the Fostering Network which runs from May 12 to May 25, this year celebrates the work that foster carers do to help make a positive impact on children’s lives.
To find out more about becoming a foster carer call Gloucestershire County Council’s Fostering Team on 01242 532654.
A drop-in event is taking place on Wednesday, May 21 in Morrisons, Ashchurch Road, Tewkesbury, from 10am to 4pm.
