VISITORS to Bourton House Garden can now enjoy a display of pure white blossom which is out in all its glory.
Five Japanese cherries Prunus 'Shirotae' in the field walk at the Bourton-on-the-hill attraction are now out in flower.
First introduced into this country in the early 1900's, Prunus 'Shirotae' was once known as the Mount Fuji cherry, named after the holy Japanese mountain covered with eternal snow.
The branches, which can spread up to 30 feet across, are heavy with pure white scented blossom and are a paradise for bees and other flying insects.
Bourton House Garden is open every Wednesday, Thursday and Friday from 10am to 5pm and admission to the field walk is included with tickets to the garden.
